The HIKMICRO M31T takes a different approach. What’s under the hood
The thermal side runs a 384×288 (110,592-pixel) detector with HIKMICRO’s SuperIR processing scaling captured images up to 768×576 for sharper detail when you’re reviewing a scan later.
NETD is rated below 35 mK at 25°C, so the sensor is sensitive enough to pick up the kind of fine temperature gradients that separate healthy tissue from an inflamed or overloaded area. A 6.4 mm F1.0 lens delivers a 41.1° × 30.5° field of view and focuses down to just 0.1 m — close enough for detailed work on smaller areas like hands, ankles, or a horse’s fetlock, without losing the wider view needed for a full-limb or full-body scan.
Alongside the thermal detector sits an 8MP visual camera, giving you Thermal, Visual, Fusion, Picture-in-Picture, and Blending modes on the same 3.5″ touchscreen.
Fusion and PIP modes matter more here than they might on an electrical inspection job — being able to overlay the thermal read directly onto the visible anatomy makes it far easier to document exactly where an asymmetry sits and to explain findings to a client, athlete, or referring practitioner without them needing to interpret a colour gradient in isolation.
Measurement tools cover centre spot, hot spot, and cold spot readings, plus up to 10 user-definable spots, a line, five rectangles, and five circles — enough to build a repeatable protocol across a session (left knee, right knee, lumbar region, and so on) rather than hunting for a single reading each time.
Auto, manual, and 1-tap level-and-span modes on the touchscreen let you sharpen contrast on the fly when you need to isolate a specific temperature band.
